Iron Beads

In today’s art time we wanted to create cute designs using iron beads. The fourth and fifth grade students each selected their own pattern.  By following the grid provided they carefully placed the colored beads in the correct places.  This is tedious work.  Too often students were not gentle enough and the whole creation was destroyed just by one bump on the grid.  Through this they learned patience and precision.  Finally they conquered and as the teacher ironed over the beads super cute objects appeared.  There were animals like an arctic fox and panda, as well as, students initials, and even happy vegetables.  The students really let their creative juices flow as they came up with ideas for this project.  Some students wanted to simply display their creation in their rooms and others wanted to attach it to their backpacks.
